July events at Broxbourne Civic Hall

 

A range of events are taking place in July at Broxbourne Civic Hall, Hoddesdon.

 

The East Herts Youth Orchestra Diamond Jubilee Proms Concert takes place on Wednesday 11 July at 7.30pm (doors open at 6pm for picnic in the grounds). The show will feature well-known songs for audience participation as well as a short firework display to end the evening in style. The concert will be held indoors. All tickets cost £5.

 

The Twist, a new show featuring songs from the 50s and 60s will take place on Sunday 15 July at 7.30pm. Stars of the show, Strictly Come Dancing lead vocalist Chris Madin and West End Sweetheart Suzy Jary bring the audience to an American Diner where "Big" Tony Tremendo, the diner owner, delivers a show packed with authentic vocals, a live band, comedy and dancers.

Girl Power in Girl Power in "TheTwist" 

Visitors are invited to enjoy a three course pre-meal show meal for £14.50 per person. Advanced booking is advisable. All seats cost £19.50 and Friends of Broxbourne Civic Hall receive 10 per cent off.

 

On Thursday 19 July at 8pm, as part of the Council's Diamond Jubilee festival, local band, The Overtures, will be playing well- known songs from the 60s. All tickets (standing only) cost £10.

 

Some of the latest films are being screened at the Broxbourne Civic Hall's full cinema screen. Film screenings taking place in July include:

  • The Artist (cert PG, silent drama, 1 hour, 40 minutes) on Tuesday 10 July
  • W.E. (cert 15, drama, 1 hour 59 minutes) on Tuesday 17 July
  • The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel (cert 12A, comedy, 2 hours 3 minutes) on Tuesday 24 July.  

All screenings take place at 1pm, 4pm and 8pm. Tickets for terrace seating cost £4.80 for adults or £3.10 for concessions. Stalls cost £4.30 for adults and £2.90 for concessions. Friends of Broxbourne Civic Hall receive 10 per cent off.
