Mon 27th May A Servant to Two Masters performed by Stageability Actors School in the Public Hall Collingwood Road Witham at 7pm (doors open 6.30pm). Goldoni's eighteenth-century masterpiece is an enduring story of love, passion and mistaken identity. Complications arise when a servant greedily seeks employment with two masters and spends the rest of the play trying to serve them both while keeping the two unaware of the other's presence. In this new, rapid-fire adaptation by award winning dramatist Lee Hall, the language has been updated to give the action the fast paced feeling of a Christmas pantomime. Fri 05th July Around Britten with Matthew Barley in the Grange Barn Coggeshall at 7.30pm. Celebrating the centenary of Benjamin Britten's birth in 2013, Matthew Barley brings his tour to the Grange Barn, the only performance in Essex. The programme will be built around Britten's Third Suite for solo cello, and will also include a suite by J S Bach, a work by Tavener, and new commissions from James MacMillan, Dai Fujikura and Norwegian DJ/composer Jan Bang.
