FJB Collection announce support for 2012 Asahi British Beach Polo Championships

Published: 21st May 2012 10:55

Independent hotel group, the FJB Collection has been confirmed as the official goal sponsor of the Asahi British Beach Polo Championships 2012 which will be held on Sandbanks beach, Dorset, on July 6 and 7.

With two of FJB's beach-side hotels, The Haven and The Sandbanks, located at opposite ends of the Blue Flag beach the goal posts will be called The Haven and The Sandbanks to represent the two hotels.

Michael Regenhardt, group operation director of the FJB Collection, says: "Beach polo is a great sport, it's fast paced and exciting giving spectators the advantage of watching the action at close quarters. Sandbanks beach provides an incredible background to the championships and with two of our hotels based right on the beach this is a great opportunity for us to raise further awareness of our hotels to spectators.

"The Asahi British Beach Polo Championships is a fantastic event and we are delighted as a local business to be supporting such a high profile event."

Johnny Wheeler from Sandpolo Events adds: "To mark the fifth anniversary of the beach polo we are delighted that the four nations; England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales will be competing. With the FJB Haven and Sandbanks hotels dominating the peninsula since 1887 we are proud to name the West and East goals accordingly."
