Would you like to be involved in a once-in-a-lifetime event? Are you free on Sunday 24 June between 9.30am and 3.00pm?
Epping Forest Arts, the arts service of Epping Forest District Council, is looking for local volunteers to help make a one-off event truly magnificent.
Make a Move and Sparks will Fly will take place at Waltham Abbey Town Show, Town Mead in Waltham Abbey. Make a Move will be bringing over 300 dancers together, consisting of community members from care homes, schools and youth groups across the district. The en-masse performance will be a truly amazing spectacle - one not to be missed!
Make a Move will dovetail into the Sparks Will Fly event from 1.00pm. Sparks Will Fly is an Essex wide, Olympic-inspired spectacle that will bring two giant champions - Marina and Boreas - into Essex to battle it out to see who becomes Champion of the Game. Marina will be leading the procession at the Waltham Abbey Town Show and everyone is welcome to come and see the magic - join the carnival. As a result we expect to be a large number of people coming to watch and more volunteers are needed.
Volunteers will be provided with a packed lunch and training for the role.
There are several different roles that volunteers could be asked to assist with including registering participants, assist participants with disabilities, assisting performers, providing information to visitors, staff viewing areas, staffing procession routes and performance areas or assisting with feedback evaluation.
Anyone interested in volunteering to help at the event should contact either Debra Coates-Reynolds on 01992 564553 (email@example.com) or Felicity Hall on 01992 564558 (email firstname.lastname@example.org) no later than 31 May.
