Olympic Torch Route for Liverpool and Wirral

Drivers, including rush hour commuters, using the motorway network and other roads in Merseyside today are being reminded that the Olympic Torch Relay is heading for Liverpool city centre, suburbs and Birkenhead this afternoon with relay legs en route to an evening celebration at the Pier Head.
Motorcyclists heading to the Isle of Man for the annual TT race festival are being reminded by RideSafe BackSafe - the North West motorcycling safety group supported by the Highways Agency - to be aware that the Torch is on Merseyside and to leave extra time to get to the port of Liverpool for ferries.
The timings for the Torch in Merseyside are as follows:
2.10pm - Torch arrives in St Helens.
2.59pm - Knowsley Safari Park
3.38pm - Huyton
4.16pm - Knotty Ash
4.32pm - Old Swan
4.34pm Liverpool: Prescot Rd, St Oswald's St, Edge Lane, Mount Vernon, Minshull St, Brownlow Hill, Mount Pleasant, Hope St, Upper Duke St, Berry St, Renshaw St, Great Charlotte St, Lime St, Islington, Hunter St.
5.46pm - Birkenhead
7.13pm - Liverpool: Pier Head evening celebration.
