29 Jun 2012 - Auditions for Neston Players' Next Production

Published: 27th June 2012 08:26

Following hot on the heels of the widely acclaimed production of Cheshire Cats, Neston Players' next play will be Aaron Sorkin's 'A Few Good Men.'

A Few Good MenIt is being directed by Paul Kirkbright, and will be performed at Neston Civic Hall from 14th to 17th November 2012.

Auditions are taking place on Wednesday 27th and Friday 29th June at The Atelier, Burton Manor, Burton, CH64 5SJ.

The Play

In the heart of the nation's capital, in a courthouse of the U.S. government, one man will stop at nothing to keep his honor, and one will stop at nothing to find the truth.

Written by Aaron Sorkin, ‘A Few Good Men' pits the inexperienced Navy lawyer, Lt. Daniel Kaffee, against the faceless might of the U.S. military hierarchy as he attempts to defend two Marines on trial for murdering one of their own. As the court case proceeds and the spectre of conspiracy arises, the tenacious defence team find themselves faced with complex questions relating to what it means to have honour, duty and dignity.

The show premiered on Broadway in 1989 and spawned a highly successful film version in 1992 which starred Tom Cruise, Demi Moore and Jack Nicholson. Packed with engaging characters, sardonic humour and moments of high tension and emotion, this searing courtroom drama is a provocative and engaging meditation on the inevitable corruption of power and the responsibility of those who unquestioningly follow orders. Exactly how do you draw the line between deciding guilt and innocence? Could you handle the truth?
