Appeal For Information - Evo-fit Released

Police are appealing for information in connection with an assault on a driver who was travelling on the B1362 in Burstwick between 1100hrs and 1115hrs on Wednesday 27 June 2012.

A woman driving her orange coloured Citroen travelling from Hull down the B1362 noticed a black vehicle following her, after she had travelled across the roundabout close to a local pub and restaurant.

The woman reported that the black car she saw in her rear view mirror had blue intermittent flashing lights in its radiator grill, and believing it to be an emergency services vehicle, she pulled her car into a lay-by.

The black vehicle also pulled into the lay by behind her when the male driver got out and approached the woman's car at the front passenger door.

The man was then reported to open the car door and ask the woman for her bag. She advised the man that she didn't have one. He then proceeded to strike her to the face before returning to his car and driving off.

The woman sustained bruising to the left side of her face for which she sought treatment at Hull Royal Infirmary.

The man is described as white in his late 30s to mid 40s, clean shaven, with light brown gelled hair, approximately 6ft in height and wearing a gold hoop earing in his left ear.

Detective Sergeant Tom Napier said,

"This would appear to be an isolated incident. The man responsible had blue flashing lights in the front grill of his car which caused the victim to stop when he then assaulted her.

"I would appeal to anyone who thinks they may know the owner of this vehicle or recognises the man in the evo-fit image to get in touch with us."

Anyone with any information in connection with this incident should contact Humberside Police on the non emergency number quoting crime reference number 1915090.

Alternatively, calls can be made anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

An Evo-fit has now been released.
