The incident happened between 0620 and 0630hrs on Monday 02 July just off the B1362 at Halsham.
The owner of the car, a red Renault Megane Scenic, had left the car securely as he went to talk to a fellow fisherman at the pond.
When he returned the passenger rear side window had been smashed and a fishing bag, poles, reels and rods had been stolen from the back seat of the car.
Police are seeking witnesses to the theft and ask anyone with information to contact Humberside Police on the non emergency number 101 referring to crime number 1915882 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
