Pouring rain failed to deter hundreds of local residents from making a pilgrimage to Port Sunlight on June 7th as the Antiques Roadshow came to town.

By close of play it was estimated that up to 2000 people had come along, either bringing their treasured antiques, or just to observe proceedings, held just a stones throw from the renowned Lady Lever Art Gallery.
Presenter Fiona Bruce, a former pupil at Gayton Primary School in Heswall, said: "It's amazing that so many people have made the effort to come along.
"I have no idea what we're expecting to find but we do have a couple of items coming out of the Lady Lever Art Gallery so that will be very interesting."
Many leading specialists were in attendance, offering advice and valuations. The programme will be on air later this year, in the Antiques Roadshow's 35th series.
