My family have lived in Borehamwood for over 50 years for the last 15 years I have lived in Kenilworth ward have represented the Town Council for 4 years and the Borough Council for 2 years in 2005 was Town Mayor. I run my own company also work for Age Concern Hertfordshire I am a governor at woodlands school and area co coordinator for Neighbourhood watch.I work with Borehamwood Red Cross also a member of the local Patient Public Involvement forum. I am dissatisfied with the lack of consideration for the residents of Borehamwood by the Tory council over the new recycling scheme and the problems it has created, and am appalled at the lack of support over day care facilities for the elderly it has been over 6 years that they have been promising a new centre with money in the bank not earning interest for the project,at this time there is a real need for this facility but this council has refused the necessary funding that would help also the inadequate youth provision in the area the county council has just started to invest in the Three ways Centre for those over 13 years of age but there is still nothing for the 11 to 13 year olds to do we need to start to get children going to clubs at an early age otherwise they will not want to go by the time they are 13. I have campaigned with other councillors to get CTV cameras in Howard drive also for road safety improvements in all areas of Borehamwood. also have been campaigning for the last two year to get new doctors surgery in the south of Borehamwood this was almost happening until the PCT run out of funds.

Swallow, Penelope | Conservative |
| I live locally in the Kenilworth ward. I have a background in Personnel and Development and I currently work for Connexions Hertfordshire supporting young people aged 13 - 19. Care for the elderly, helping young people, and the state of our roads and open spaces are particularly important to me. I have been very involved in Neighbourhood Watch and I also helped to campaign against the installation of a mobile telephone mast in Furzehill Road. On a personal level my interests are walking, keeping fit (most of the time!) and holidays. There are a number of initiatives/resources coming into Borehamwood. I hope that you will give me the opportunity to represent you so that we can put these to best use to shape services that will really make a difference to our lives and to those of our families. I look forward to your support on May 3rd. | |
