Stuck for ideas for a car mad Dad this Father’s Day? Then look no further than tickets to the Silverstone Classic (28-30 July 2017) – as the world’s biggest classic motor racing festival, the action-packed, three-day extravaganza is heaven for any petrolhead.

What’s more, with unrivalled entertainment for all ages – plus a special Family Ticket option – the entire household can join in the high-speed thrills and spills, making what is already an unforgettable Father's Day gift all the more special. And, should dad already have purchased his 2017 Silverstone Classic tickets, there’s always the opportunity to upgrade him to full VIP hospitality making his day even more outstanding.

No matter what his particular interest, any fun-loving dad will be thrilled by a visit to the dazzling Silverstone Classic – an amazing, flat-out trip down memory lane. Across three full days of non-stop entertainment, there will be a glittering array of attractions and activities, headed by a glorious line-up of unmissable races on the famous Silverstone Grand Prix circuit. These feature many of the world’s rarest, most spectacular and valuable racing cars from past golden eras.

Ranging from the evocative Bentleys and Bugattis of the 1920s to the high-tech prototypes from the 1990s, the stellar race card will deliver some of the most eye-catching grids ever seen in this country covering the glittering history of Formula 1, Le Mans, sports, touring and GT cars.

This year’s eye-catching line-up includes two exciting encounters for flame-spitting Ford Sierra Cosworth RS500s as well as a pair of spectacular showdowns for glorious V8 DFV-powered F1 cars, celebrating 50 years of GP racing’s most successful engine.

There will be famous faces, too, with a special Celebrity Challenge Trophy Race. Those already confirmed include: Olympic Gold Medalists Jason Kenny, Jonny and Greg Searle, Mark Hunter and Amy Williams; former England cricket captain Mike Gatting; Vassos Alexander from the Chris Evans Breakfast Show and bike legends Wayne Gardner and ‘Fast’ Freddie Spencer.

As if that isn’t enough to put a huge smile on every dad’s face, there will be more than 10,000 classic cars lovingly exhibited on the infield, ranging from awe-inspiring Ferraris and Maseratis to lovable Morgans and MGs. What’s more, this summer there will be a record parade of Jaguar’s remarkable XJ220 supercar – not so long ago, the world’s fastest production car.

As has become customary, the strains of live music will also be a popular feature over the weekend, with crowd-pleasing concerts on the evenings of both Friday (28 July) and Saturday (29 July) maintaining the fabulous event’s ‘Rocking and Racing’ tradition. Marking 50 years since the release of the seminal ‘Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band’ album, the Bootleg Beatles are topping a special ‘Summer of Love’ line-up on Friday while Saturday’s bill includes both former Spandau Ballet front-man Tony Hadley and The Dire Straits Experience. Entry to all these rock concerts is included within the general event admission price.

But the entertainment doesn’t stop there. A vintage funfair on the JET Village Green, air displays, three auctions, a hot air balloon display, helicopter flights, streetcar shoot-outs, 4x4 passenger experiences, spitfire demonstrations, crazy golf, a huge shopping village, an adrenaline zone, Car Clinics with the original Wheeler Dealer, Mike Brewer, and a live restoration, both presented by eBay, as well as giant TV screens showing all the on-track action are all part of the most remarkable classic car festival of the year.

"The Silverstone Classic is the biggest and best classic motor racing festival in the world and there really is something for everyone," enthused Nick Wigley, CEO of organisers, Goose Live Events. "That’s why a family day out at the Silverstone Classic is the perfect Father's Day gift for any dad with even the smallest drop of high-octane fuel running through his veins."

In keeping with the event’s widely acclaimed ‘access all areas’ policy, all tickets include free entrance to both racing paddocks and pit complexes, trackside grandstands and live music concerts on Friday and Saturday evenings. Adult admission is from just £43 and weekend camping and hospitality upgrades are available, too. There’s also a special three-day Family Ticket. Full details can be found on the official www.silverstoneclassic.com website.

Full ticket details and all the latest news is available on the official website: silverstoneclassic.com and via the event’s social media platforms.
