Messiah comes to Bristol early this year

Just about every year since 1892, Bristol Choral Society has performed Messiah at the Colston Hall on the Saturday before Christmas. 2011 will be different as the choir will perform Bach's Christmas Oratorio (with internationally renowned tenor Mark Padmore) on 17 December instead.
Messiah lovers need not despair, however, as on Saturday 26 November there are two opportunities to experience Bristol Choral Society's renowned memorized Messiah:
Families are invited to enjoy the Mini Messiah family concert at 4:30pm - this shortened version of Handel's masterpiece with professional orchestra and soloists was enthusiastically received by hundreds of families at last year's debut, so returns this year at the same price: £5 for adults, accompanied children FREE. Adults who wish to experience a Bristol Choral Society performance of Messiah this year (there will be no complete Messiah performance by the choir this Christmas) are equally welcome!
Before that, at 2pm, all are invited to 'Come & Sing' a selection of choruses from Messiah with the choir and their renowned conductor Adrian Partington. Singing tickets are £7 for adults (or £9 if you need to hire a score) including free audience admission to the 4:30pm concert. Again, accompanied children are admitted free.
