our composers who would have turned 150 this year are to be celebrated at Bristol Concert Orchestra's St George's Bristol concert this Saturday 5 December.
Two of the best-known and well-loved works by Sibelius (Karelia Suite and 5th Symphony) will feature in the concert, plus music by Nielsen (Helios Overture), Glazunov (the Violin Concerto with exciting young soloist Eloisa-Fleur Thom) and Dukas - The Sorcerer's Apprentice (famously used in Disney's animation 'Fantasia') which will be performed in Saturday's concert with a special narration by David Barrell.
There will be a retiring collection in aid of children's cancer charity Smile with Siddy.
The concert, conducted by Stefan Hofkes, starts at 7.30pm on Saturday 5 December at St George's Bristol.
Tickets are available St George's Bristol online, by phone (0845 40 24 001) or in person.
