Bristol Concert Orchestra: Dvorak Cello Concerto with Matthew Barley

Bristol Concert Orchestra will be joined by renowned cellist Matthew Barley this Saturday 25th June at St George's Bristol.
Matthew has performed and recorded extensively, including the 'around Britten' tour of 100 concerts he undertook in 2013 including performances at St George's and Tyntesfield. This Saturday, he will perform Dvorak's Cello Concerto with the orchestra - widely regarded as the greatest of its type.
The orchestra will also play the 2nd Symphony by Brahms - described by Classic FM as 'full of warmth, brimming with optimism and overflowing with lush, joyful melodies' - and the effervescent Overture, Polka and Dance of the Comedians from Smetana's The Bartered Bride.
The concert, conducted by Stefan Hofkes, starts at 7.30pm on Saturday 25 June at St George's Bristol and there will be a retiring collection for the Forever Friends appeal (RUH cancer centre).
