Thornbury Golf Centre raises more than £3500 for Cancer Research UK

Generous golfers playing an annual Charity Day at Thornbury Golf Centre have raised more than £3,500 for Cancer Research UK.
Seventy-six golfers took to the stunning 18-hole Marlwood Course at the public pay-and-play facility in teams of four, to compete in the charitable Texas scramble competition.
Thornbury – part of BGL Golf, the UK’s leading golf course owner and operator – welcomed golfers from across the region for the competition and the winning team comprised of Dave Robinson, Alan Wells, Mike Bryant and Huw Miles, who topped the leaderboard with a score of 64.
Richard Dakin, Thornbury Golf Centre General Manager, said: “We regularly host charity days like this and our members and guests are always generous with their donations. I’d like to thank all who took part in the day and contributed towards to this worthy cause.”
Cancer Research UK is the world’s leading charity dedicated to beating cancer through research. All money donated goes towards funding the research into more 200 types of cancer with the goal being to find a cure for each.
