Spiritual Mentor & Wellbeing expert hosts connectivity discussion with famous author

AN EXPERT advising individuals and businesses on spiritual and professional wellbeing is hosting a Zoom-based discussion with the world’s leading Dogon Tribe specialist on global human connectivity post-COVID-19 this month (September 19, 2020).
Peter Heath, from A Centre of Light in Somerset, is chatting to Laird Scranton, who became interested in the Dogon’s and their connection to their ancestral home in the 1990s.
Peter, co-founder of the organisation near Bridgwater with his wife Mags and step-daughters, Chantelle and Candice, says: “The theme of our discussion with Laird Scranton on September 19 is connections. Through Laird’s work, we see many examples of connectedness. He will talk about the connection between the non-material and material worlds; the underlying unity of language and symbols in certain cultures, and the Dogon Tribe’s connection to the place they call their ancestral home, the Dog Star Sirius.
“Our connectivity as humans has become more apparent recently in light of COVID-19. We seem to have confronted something that has bonded us globally, with everyone focused on the same cause, and seeking the same outcome. However, has it also divided us? Have we lost that former connection with each other? With social distancing, has that vital link been muted, if only on a temporary basis? We cannot hug, we cannot shake hands, our mouths are covered, and our voices and expressions are stifled. We will be asking Laird that vital question: is humanity losing its connectivity in the Coronavirus aftermath? And, together, we’ll be offering some answers too. It promises to be an inspiring interview.”
Laird Scranton, who is an independent researcher of ancient cosmology and language, became interested in Dogon mythology and symbolism in the early 1990s.
Peter adds: “He is the famous author of a series of books on ancient cosmology, language and myth. As an organisation we seek to explore the world through religion, philosophy, art and science, and the unity that underlies them. Laird is a wonderful exemplar of such an approach, and we’re delighted he has agreed to be part of our video exploring 21st century connectivity in a COVID dominated world.”
