What is the Summer Reading Challenge?
The Summer Reading Challenge is the UK's biggest reading event for children in libraries. It starts on Saturday, 13 July at your local library and runs until Saturday, 7 September. This year's theme is Creepy House. It's fun, free and it's not that frightening!
The aim of the challenge is for children to read six or more books from their library during the summer holidays, with special rewards to encourage them to read more and lots of fun events.

ALL children can take part and taking part is FREE! All you need is a library card - or join the library now.
A donation will be made to Keech Hospice Care for every book read. This is thanks to the sponsorship from the Wates Family Enterprise Trust.
In 2012, 9,175 children signed up in Bedfordshire and read 92,593 books! Can we beat it these figures this year??

Summer Reading Rewards
We haven't forgotten the adults! Make reading a family affair and ask for a stamp card of your own.
For every four stamps you collect on a special bookmark, you'll be given a voucher for a free request or audiobook, CD or DVD loan.
