An early Christmas present for Berkshire children’s charity

Published: 2nd December 2020 09:55

A Crowthorne charity that offers outreach support and respite holidays for hundreds of very sick children and their families, has received an early Christmas present.

Aldermaston-based solar developer, Anesco, has made a donation of 150 sensory toys to Sebastian's Action Trust, as part of its Charitable Trust initiative. The Christmas gifts are for the seriously ill children that the charity supports and will be presented at the Trust's annual Christmas Party, being held virtually this year.

Simon Lillywhite, communications and fundraising manager at Sebastian's Action Trust, explains: "We're incredibly grateful to Anesco and thank the team for their generous donation, which will bring joy to so many children.

"The Christmas party is always a highlight of the year for us - and is more important than ever, with the pandemic leaving many families feeling isolated. It will be a fun-packed few hours, including an online panto, reindeers and of course, an appearance from Santa Claus to deliver the presents!"

The Anesco Charitable Trust is an employee-led initiative that supports good causes and community initiatives, as well as working closely with local schools and colleges to help educate the next generation on renewable energy.

Sebastian's Action Trust was nominated for support by Samantha Browne, ECO finance manager at Anesco. Samantha commented: "The Trust provides support and respite for a close friend of mine, so I've seen first-hand just how valuable their services can be for families and children with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions. I'm thrilled that Anesco has made this donation and is helping raise awareness for the vital work they are doing."
