New Times for Street Sports
Sports sessions aimed at encouraging older teenagers and young adults to get involved in regular sports participation are being held across the district.
The free sessions are being run on a weekly basis during term time only at One Leisure Ramsey on Mondays 3.30pm - 4.30pm, Middleton Road, Yaxley on Tuesdays 4.15pm - 5.15pm, One Leisure Sawtry on Wednesdays 4pm - 5pm and One Leisure St Neots on Thursdays 3.30pm - 4.30pm. Activities include football, cricket and dodgeball.
Councillor Tom SandersonCouncillor Tom Sanderson, executive councillor for healthy and active communities said: "We have had great success at the Street Sports sessions in the past, with over 350 young people attending throughout the district. The sessions are free and a great opportunity for young adults to get involved in a variety of sporting activities."
Street Sports are informal sessions that have been organised by Huntingdonshire District Council's sport and active lifestyles team, in partnership with the Office of Children and Young People, as part of the Sport England funded DASH (Delivering Activity and Sport in Huntingdonshire) project.
