Five cadets from 2484 (Bassingbourn) Sqn, Six cadets from 2484 (Cambourne) Detached Flight and two members of staff joined over 40 other cadets and staff members from within the Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire Wing to participate in a week’s Annual Summer Camp at RAF St Mawgan in Cornwall.
The Cadets had a full week of activities, some of which included shooting and climbing at Granite Planet Climbing Centre. Granite Planet is a climbing wall which caters for various levels of climbing abilities. Another activity in which the cadets participated was Laser Tag this took place over 3 days where cadets where split into teams and took turns to protect a hanger. The staff also enjoyed this exercise and played militia forces where they were rewarded highly in bags of haribo. Cadets also had the opportunity to visit local beaches and a trip to the Falmouth Maritime Museum.
Cdt J Smith of 2484 (Bassingbourn) Sqn said “summer camp was fantastic. I meet so many people, made lots of friends and the staff where great.”
