Being discharged from hospital can be a difficult time for some people. After having 24 hour care and all your meals provided it may be a shock going back to what coudl be a cold house with no food in the fridge. People who have been admitted in an emergency will often find their home just as they left it weeks ago, with food left out and washing up in the sink.
Welcome Home volunteers offer practical help for people returning home after a hospital stay. They do things like shopping, collecting prescriptions, making sure the house is warm and comfortable and checking people are ok.
We need volunteers in this area, particularly St Neots and surrounding villages, Great Staughton, Huntingdon and Kimbolton.
Volunteering is a great way to meet people, add interest to your CV, and gain new skills. We offer training and support, mileage and telephone expenses.
All volunteers will need to undertake an enhanced CRB check.
Welcome Home from Hospital is part of Care Network Cambridgeshire a registered charity.
