Two cadets from (272) Wisbech Squadron Air Cadets have recently achieved a shooting qualification, the first to do so for some time.
Cadet Corporal Josh Garner and Cadet Josh Loosemore gained there marksmanship badges whilst taking part in Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire Wing Shoots held at RAF Honington.
Cadet Corporal Garner achieved a Wing Marksman whilst Cadet Loosemore gained a Corps Marksman which is the highest shooting qualification a cadet can get. Wing Marksman requires the firer to achieve at least 54/70 fired over 4 different targets. Corps Marksman requires the firer to attain at least 100 out of 120.
‘I am really pleased to have gained this qualification after a lot of hard work.' Said Cadet Josh Loosemore.
Both cadets were presented with their respective badge to wear on their brassards by the Commanding Officer of the Squadron, Flight Lieutenant Colin Arnold RAFVR(T).
Marksmanship training and target shooting are a key personal skill taught in the Air Training Corps. It is highly safety orientated and teaches the cadet attention to detail, discipline and concentration but also brings a great sense of achievement when a high score is gained.
