Coronation Street actress, Sue Nicholls, is helping to support one of the North West's oldest and largest charities in its first ever Firewalk event. Sue headed to the famous Rovers Return to spark budding firewalkers into action and encourage them to extinguish their fears and walk over hot coals in aid of the Together Trust.
The charity, which provides care, education and support for young people and adults, is giving people over the age of 18 the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to brave 1200 degree heat and walk across the fiery embers. Taking place on Saturday 16 November 2013 at the Together Trust Centre in Cheadle, the firewalk evening will also feature a sizzling supper, licensed bar and red hot entertainment.
Registration costs £20 and participants will have a minimum sponsorship target of £100, with the money raised supporting the Together Trust's vital services across the North West. Fundraisers will feel no need for protective footwear following full training by expert, Scott Bell, who is twice a Guinness World Record holder for the longest firewalk.
Helena Brailsford, fundraising manager for the Together Trust, said: "Sue's support is fantastic and has helped generate a real excitement about the Firewalk. The Together Trust is one of the first North West charities to take part in such a life changing event and we're inviting everyone to join us on what promises to be a memorable evening for firewalkers, spectators and the local communities who benefit from our services."
