Lighting up Neston town centre - Christmas 2008 Lantern Procession
Published: 3rd December 2008 21:53 |
Children from throughout the CH64 area took part in this year's Lantern Procession.
CAN Group organised a series of Lantern Workshops during November, where children happily got stuck into a pile of bamboo, tissue paper and glue, and the results were pretty spectacular!
The children and their families took their lanterns along to a meeting point behind the Town Hall, from where the procession set off, led by CAN Group leader Eileen Miller, and accompanied by Neston police officers and members of the Rotary Club of Neston.
Neston Police stopped the traffic in the High Street as the procession made it's way down past the Cross and into the Parish Church of St Mary and St Helen for a Brass Band concert and sing-a-long organised by the Rotary Club. See our accompanying article for photos of the Concert and the children meeting Santa afterwards.
