Fair Share Trust Programme

Ellesmere Port & Neston has been nominated to receive funds from the Big Lottery Fair Share Trust programme to help improve your neighbourhood and strengthen local community organisations. A total of £818,000 is available over a seven-year period (from 1 April 2005 ending on 31 March 2012). Fair Share will benefit people living in priority wards in Ellesmere Port & Neston.
Fair Share is a fund for those parts of the country which have missed out on previous Lottery Funding. The Cheshire Community Council is the managing agent for the Fair Share Trust programme in Ellesmere Port & Neston.
Aims of Fair Share
Fair Share seeks to build capacity and sustainability within communities, including support for community assets and planning and local regeneration. It can also encourage local social and skills development, facilitate community development in local organisations and promote job creation.
Fair Share aims to make long-term, strategic grants during the period of the programme. These grants should complement each other and contribute to the achievement of specific aims and priorities which have been drawn up by a panel of people who live and work in the area. These "neighbourhood priorities" govern how Fair Share money will be spent in the borough.
If you have an idea for a project which addresses any or all of the priorities in Ellesmere Port & Neston and your organisation or group would like to deliver it, you will, as a first step, need to complete a project proposal form.
