News From Your Cheshire West & Chester Councillors

Published: 27th March 2012 11:21

AboutMyArea has offered to provide space for your local Cheshire West and Chester ward Councillors to keep you up to date on what they are doing in the community.

There are four Councillors covering the wards in the CH64 postcode area:

blogLittle Neston

Cllr Louise Gittins (Labour)

Currently vacant, by-election to be held in May 2021

Martin Barker (Independent)

Willaston & Thornton

Cllr Myles Hogg (Conservative)

The invitation to 'blog' has been extended to all Councillors, but they are not under any obligation to provide material, nor have any specific deadlines been issued.  This may mean that some Councillors will blog more often than others, and some may not choose to take up the space offered. However, several of them have already welcomed the proposal and we look forward to hearing from them.

Please note that, as always, we welcome lively debate and will therefore leave the comments section open for readers to use.  The comments will, however, be carefully monitored to ensure that the experience of reading and participating in this section is, overall, a positive one.

When local elections are due, we will suspend the blogging section in lieu of our usual procedure around such times, where we invite all candidates to submit a statement to a maximum pre-determined length, to ensure fairness on the lead up to the democratic process.

I note that my CT Bill has increased by 5.01% which means it will double in just 14 years time and become unaffordable mainly due to PCC policing going up by 7% and Adult Care increasing by 34% pa making the 3% as printed on my CT Bill looking suspiciously ridiculous.
With the May elections approaching it is time for our councillors to explain that which they intend doing about reducing our CT Bills.

With the local elections due in May let us have more Independent Councillors like Neston Town Council who will have only the interests of constituents at heart therefore won't have to toe party lines or look over their shoulders for fear of being drummed out of their party.

You need to log in before you can do that! It's only a quick registration process to join the AMA network and completely free.
