A Christmas Message from Neston Police

An end of year round-up and Christmas message, from Neston's Police Sergeant Daniel Greenhalgh.
2014 has flown by and we are fast approaching 2015 (sticking to the speed limits of course!)
My team have worked hard, and together with our Ellesmere Port & Neston NPU colleagues have made a positive impact in and around the areas where you live.
Whilst expectations can often be high, we have done our utmost to ensure we have identified priorities early and targeted our efforts to prevent Crime and Anti-Social Behaviour, amongst other aspects of our police work.
We have supported lots of community events throughout the year and enjoyed being a part of them. Events such as; Ladies Club Day, Summer events in the parks, Burton bonfire, 100 years of WW1 and the Christmas Lights switch on to mention but a few! Neston as a town makes considerable efforts for those who live in the community and is very unique in that respect.
Burglaries are often higher at this time of year, so be vigilant. But remember, a red suit (or Green as it started!) and genuine white beard, with black boots is more than likely Santa delivering to the children. Incidentally, following complaints about speeding over the year we have written to Santa to ensure he doesn't fall foul of this... As his "Taxi" sleigh is pulled by very talented and often independent reindeers, that 'Extra' glass of red wine should not be an issue for Santa. But he has expressed to all that he is not the norm! Whilst many of us will get very merry on one or three nights during Christmas and New Year, we want the roads to remain safe, including the day after...
So, if any of you see a very merry, speeding Santa and his reindeer who often park in ridiculous and dangerous places (Roof tops!) please take heed that he is very busy this time of year. Santa is not someone we really need to worry about, unless he forgets to bring you presents. Thankfully I am sure the vast majority of children have made the good list this year.
My team and I would like to wish you all a Very Merry Christmas and Happy, safe New Year.
Sgt 3658 Greenhalgh
In addition to the above on a more serious note...
Neston has suffered two targeted robberies over the last 2 weeks. Neston Natwest Bank and last Sunday evening (21/12) a lone male committed a robbery at Ladbrokes, Badger Bait, Little Neston. Persons for both these robberies have been arrested as part of the investigation. I would appeal to the public locally for the Ladbrokes robbery, if they saw anyone acting suspiciously in the immediate area in the days/evenings leading up to and including the Sunday evening when the offence took place, please contact 101.
