From Saturday 5th December to Sunday 13th December, Ness Botanic Gardens was uniquely illuminated -

At the official launch, visitors were welcomed by Ness Gardens Director Kevin Reid who said: "IllumiNESS promises to be a spectacular finale for the Year of the Environment celebrations and offers something for everyone to enjoy from stunning light displays, a luxury Christmas market and seasonal refreshments."

Wow! As we watched the display of lights playing on the fountains, we heard several children exclaiming wow! This has to be the best way to start Christmas! I think it will become a tradition in the northwest to go to Illuminess. I understand not all places are booked, and all the people who went tonight would recommend it unreservedly. When we went, the fountains in the Jurassic park were temporarily not working, but the sounds were and it was magic. Don't miss it!

I have been working on site all week and I have to say it really is good. There are plenty of spaces left. You can turn up and buy tickets on the the door or you can go to www.illuminess.org.uk to book online. It's well worth a look, you don't have to like gardens to really enjoy the event. The weather has held out each night just wrap up warm and enjoy the magic.
