Neston's talented artists entertain

A Grand Variety Concert took place at the Parish Church, to help raise funds for the Village Fair.
Expertly compered by Tony Cooke, the evening began with an instrumental piece by The Powells, followed by the Neston Kid's Choir, led by Paula Prytherch. The choir, who have only been rehearsing together for a few weeks, gave a marvellous performance of three songs, including an a capella version of "Walking on Sunshine."
Next up on the bill were some of the finalists from this year's Neston's Got Talent - the astonishing drumming skills of 6 year old Seth Beard, the beautiful singing, guitar and violin playing of Catherine Williams and Hannah Davies, and, last but not least in the first half, the lovely voice of Debbie Jeffs.
After an interval the audience joined in a sing-a-long, after which talented classical guitarists Trio Con Brio took to the stage. Further performances by the Neston's Got Talent finalists followed, with the evening ending with a haunting rendition of Somewhere Over the Rainbow, by Debbie Jeffs.
Mayor of Neston, Councillor David Clark, thanked all the volunteers who had organised the event, and spoke about how talented all the performers were.
Money raised at the event will go towards a new mixing desk for the Village Fair.
