On Thursday 11th November 2010, the Parkgate Primary School junior choir sang at the ‘Voice in a Million' concert at the Liverpool Echo Arena.
The concert was organised in order to raise awareness for adoption and its aim is to encourage as many people as possible to adopt.
The 30 strong choir headed off to Liverpool at lunchtime for a full day of rehearsals alongside over 200 other schools from the North West.
They sang songs such as ‘Lean on Me,' ‘I'll be there,' ‘You raise me up' and a rather apt version of ‘You'll Never Walk Alone'!'
After eating a packed tea we then put our special Voice in a Million T shirts on and prepared ourselves for the concert which began at 7.30pm and ended at 10pm. Although the winds outside howled around the Albert Dock we were oblivious to this as the event was so highly charged with adrenalin and emotion. All relatives and friends who attended said it was a truly amazing and unforgettable experience for their children and indeed themselves. Well done Parkgate!
