Little Neston Wind Turbine Application - Comments Deadline Passes
Published: 9th October 2013 10:00 |
Residents had until October 15 to comment on the most recent application by the University of Liverpool to install two wind turbines on land in Little Neston.
The original planning application attracted considerable attention from the local community, prompting a significant number of comments on this website as people exchanged their views.
The University and their agents subsequently held consultations in July at Neston Library and Neston Community and Youth Centre in an attempt to bring the public on side with their plans.
The application that was then re-submitted for '2 wind turbines including substation, control units and cable routes on land Between Cuckoo Lane And Woodfall Lane' and can be found on the Cheshire West and Chester website here. Members of the public could leave comments on the application online up until October 15. The determination deadline is 4 November 2013.
Councillor Louise Gittins travelled to Bury earlier this year to view a similarly-sized turbine in situ. Her two photographs above show, on the left, the turbine viewed from approximately 400m away and on the right, from about 30m away.
Both Cllr Gittins and Cllr Kay Loch have 'called in' the planning application in recent weeks, due to the weight of opinion amongst local residents that the application should be refused.

Turbine 1 is 39m (128ft) to hub and 55.44 (182ft) to tip of blades.
Turbine 2 is 30m (almost 99ft) to hub and 46.44m (152ft) to tip of blades.
Turbine 1 will not now be across the hedge but very close and across the footpath.
How many of you remember the "Nature Reserve" up Woodfall lane, adjacent to this field?
Seriously , local councillor Louise Gittins has discovered ( from onsite - in Bury -tests with the manufacturers ) that the continuous , persistent loud clanking noise from these machines is clearly audible at 450metres and beyond easily covering the school and all of our houses .
If you don't think that this is a good idea then you need to contact Planning Officer Mrs Lyndsay Shinner before Oct 8th ( at Planning Service , Cheshire West and Chester Council , Wyvern House , The Drumber . Winsford CW7 1AH , quoting planning reference 13/03714/FUL ) and get this thrown out .
Ask yourself , why should a University get away with threatening a local community miles away from IT'S homes and campus , get away with erecting a 150ft structure on arable Green Belt land ( good luck with putting a block of flats up there ) and get away with spending a million pounds on becoming self-sustainable !
Further details are available online at the Council's website -
www.cheshirewestandchester.gov.uk/online-applications but basically it is 2 no. twin bladed wind turbines including substation, control units and cable routes. (Turbine 1 to measure 39m to height of hub, 55.44m to tip of blades. Turbine 2 to measure 30m to height of hub, 46.44m to tip of blades). | Land Between Cuckoo Lane And Woodfall Lane Cuckoo Lane Neston Cheshire .
Denmark used to have a 1.5km distance of houses from Turbines but now it has ruled 'no more on land" until its finished its own research. Denmark noticed a statistically significant increase in certain health conditions and at greater distances than 1.5km
