Pink Poo Initiative Comes to Neston

A campaign aimed at tackling the problem of dog fouling reaches Neston this month.
It includes a 'Pink Poo' in initiative that has proved to be very effective elsewhere in the country.
Cheshire West and Chester Council has identified target locations where there have been higher than average complaint levels about the problem of dog fouling and irresponsible owners failing to clear up after their pets.
The Pink Poo initiative involves working with volunteers from local communities, who spray dog mess with bright pink paint to embarrass irresponsible owners and ensure that pedestrians are aware of the mess. The sprayed mess will then be removed by the Council within 48 hours. As the spray is chalk-based, any residual spray will disappear within a week. Each initiative will last for up to 4 weeks, with one day of spraying per week and monitoring of incidents to gauge if the problem is reducing.
The first area in Neston to be targeted will be around Victoria Road/Lees Lane in Little Neston. Volunteers who are interested in assisting with the initiative are asked to please contact one of your ward Members by email:
The initiative will be launched on Monday March 16.
Community Safety
A community safety warden and other council representatives were in the Neston area week commencing March 16, conducting various activities in partnership with local police, including parking enforcement, dog fouling in Stanney Fields Park, speedwatch and elevated anti-social behaviour patrols.
Community Wardens, Cheshire police and Council dog wardens also attended Neston Market on Friday 20th March, to engage with local residents and inform them of local issues such as vehicle crime, dog fouling, ASB and parking. Report here.

What ever the reason, have a care and consider the diseases that can be transmitted to humans as well as other dogs by not picking it up.
At least it will have the advantage of letting people see it so they don't step into it.
Outside my front gate seems to be a popular spot for a dog toilet. It I catch the culprit I won't be responsible for my actions.
