Pupils from Neston Primary School recently travelled back in time.
Children dressed-up as World War 2 evacuees arriving at Hadlow Road Station in Willaston, where they were met by a Billeting Officer (a role played by John Lees of Neston Players).
Pupils had made their own gas mask boxes and, in drama lessons, had explored the feelings and emotions of children who were evacuated during the war.
The title of the topic work was "Far from Home" and the trip to Willaston was used as a stimulus for the pupils' work.
Deputy-Head teacher Annabel Elliot said: "We are very grateful to Mr Lees for his time and help. His acting skills added a sense of realism to the experience and helped to deepen the children's understanding.
"The children thoroughly enjoyed the visit to Hadlow Road Station."
