Home-Start Launching in Neston - Volunteers Needed
Published: 23rd August 2017 14:40 |
Could YOU make a difference? Could you be a Home-Start Volunteer?
Home-Start offers free support to families with young children in Wirral.
At Home-Start we believe that parents have the key role in creating a secure childhood for their children. It's just that sometimes they need a bit of help. That's what our trained volunteers provide. Thanks to new funding, Home-Start is now expanding its family support services to the Neston area.
- Are you a parent or grandparent?
- Are you able to spare 3 hours a week?
Home-Start volunteers visit families at home, supporting parents in situations such as isolation, illness, multiple births, disability, or who are just finding parenting a struggle. They provide non-judgemental practical and emotional support and help build parents and families' confidence and ability to cope.
"My volunteer is absolutely fantastic. Home-Start could not have matched us better. It's very hard to accept help and let a stranger into your home, to play with your children and to open up emotionally. The fact that I knew she was a volunteer and a mother herself made it less stressful. The girls and I have made a great friend."
Training Provided
Home-Start offers quality training and meets all out-of-pocket expenses.
The first Neston Volunteer Course will be starting at Neston Community Youth Centre on Tuesday 26th September, from 9.30pm - 2.30pm for 10 weeks, finishing on Tuesday 5th December (no session during half term week). Places may be limited, so please make contact early to be sure of a place.
