New Pink Poo Campaign Launches in Neston

Author: Cllr Louise Gittins Published: 8th May 2018 09:24

Councillor Louise Gittins fills us in on the new pink poo campaign just launched in Neston.

We have had enough of dog poo: on our shoes, on our kids' prams and bikes, so a group of volunteers in Little Neston is fighting back against dog owners who don't pick up their dog's mess.

Pink poo campaign in NestonCllr Gittins recruiting volunteers for the campaign, at Neston Market recently.

From this week, dog muck left on roads and pavements in Little Neston around Mellock Lane will be sprayed pink. The purpose of this campaign is to highlight exactly how bad the problem is and to embarrass irresponsible dog owners by spraying incidents of dog fouling pink. Our street scene team will then remove the pink poo a few days later.

If everyone can see how bad a problem this is then dog owners should be encouraged to pick up the poo and not leave it behind in future.

This area was chosen for the campaign due to an increase in complaints. I'll be spraying up Cuckoo Lane not just the poo, but bags of poo that have been left on the path. We will be spraying for the month of May.

A video has been produced by Cheshire West and Chester Council explaining how this works (look out for some of our local community activists in the film which was recorded in West Vale Park).

If anyone wants to get involved in a follow up campaign in their area please let me know and we will get one up and running.

This is brilliant and hopefully will help change the behaviours of a few dog owners who still think it's acceptable to leave their fog **** on the path, there is one gentleman who walks his dog up woodfall lane who despite being challenged thinks it perfectly acceptable to leave his dogs mess on the paths where the kids walk to and from school, unbelievable, I have a better idea, can we spray him pink ?

Regarding that scumbag that won't clean after his dog, if his name or address is known, he must be reported and fined according to the law. Unless there are successful prosecutions, nothing else will change their behavior.

You need to log in before you can do that! It's only a quick registration process to join the AMA network and completely free.
