Avon Buses Cease Trading

It has been announced that Avon Buses have ceased trading.
22 bus route now taken over by Stagecoach.
Following the announcement on Friday October 5, there was no service on route 22 between West Kirby, Arrowe Park Hospital, Heswall, Parkgate, Neston, Willaston and Chester over the weekend.
AboutMyArea was told: "Service 22 will be operated by Stagecoach from Monday 8th October 2018 for an indefinite period. The service will be operated on an entirely ‘commercial’ basis, therefore at no cost to the Authority. Buses will operate to the same timetable as that operated by Avon Buses."
Phil Lloyd, Chair of the Transport Working Group for Neston Town Council, said: "This is a worrying development in local bus services and we welcome the timely action to restore the service.
"We look forward to discussing the future of this and other routes with Cheshire West and Chester Council with a view to establishing a stable and reliable bus services in due course".
