Bid Now and You Could Own Grandad's Slippers

A local Grandad has reluctantly offered to part with his treasured slippers, to aid Comic Relief.
The Grandad in question is Ted Bemand of Neston based 'Brums and Buns' fame. He recently organised a trip to North Wales for his fellow vintage car enthusiasts, as reported on AboutMyArea.
Under 'Condition' on the item, it reads "The main items show a degree of distress commensurate with age."
According to the Ebay listing, they are "top of the range Marks and Spencer real leather house slippers, probably only ten years old. But, they have had a rather hard life. Grandad regularly walked 100 yards to the newsagents in them and always wore them to work on restoring his classic Panhard car for Wirral Classic Car Club.
"Yet despite this, they still have a decent tread. Sadly the welt has succumbed to his rather aggressive use and he has had to redo some stitching... which has now started to fail again, giving one slipper a rather ventilated front. However, this aids the display, giving it a more dynamic aspect.
The listing continues: "As a tribute to M&S quality he is loathe to ‘bin' them. Following his ten year old Granddaughter, Charlotte's idea to sell them to aid Red Nose day, he has nailed them to a well weathered piece of fence panel and declares them...a piece of Modern Art. He also penned this tongue in cheek copy.
"This display is truly unique; it could comfortably rest alongside Tracey Emin's unmade bed, identifying the buyer as a true appreciator of modern art...well, after all, art is very subjective!
"Be advised, Granddad's fellow riders in Wirral Wobblers Moped Club will be bidding and they are big spenders so please bid aggressively.
"Remember, ALL proceeds will go to Comic Relief and Granddad will post free within UK, thank you."
The listing closes on March 15, so hurry.... Bid here.
