Police Called as Guest Refuses to Leave Thornton Hall Hotel

Police and paramedics were called to an incident at Thornton Hall Hotel in Neston Road early in the morning of Thursday August 22.

Guests at the hotel and its health club were startled to see five police vehicles (including a large van) and an ambulance in attendance from around 7.30am until shortly before 10am. 

It has been reported that an 'aggressive' man was causing a disturbance and refusing to leave his hotel room in the side block, slightly away from the main hotel building.

North West Ambulance Service confirmed its operators received a 'concern for welfare' call from the four star hotel. Shortly afterwards Merseyside Police attended, following reports that the man was being aggressive towards the paramedics.

Unconfirmed reports suggest that that the man may have caused some damage to the premises.  He was eventually taken to hospital at around 9.55am.
