A Big Thank You to Neston Christian Aid Donators

Neston & District Christian Aid group would like to thank the generous people who have donated to Christian Aid via the link set up by our Treasurer, John Edwards.

Over £2,500 has been given already, and Christian Aid will also collect extra from Gift Aid. We are also grateful to people who have made donations by phone (0207 523 2269). Lynne Vaughan, local organiser, has also received £264, which she has paid into the local account. We are most grateful to AboutMyArea for publicising our fund-raising, when we were not able to do our usual door-to-door collection.
We appreciate that some people have lost jobs, or are running businesses that are closed, and cannot give this year. Others, however, who are receiving an income have been pleased to help people around the world who are in a desperate state.
The link is still open for a few more days, for anyone else who would like to donate, here.
The Christian Aid service, led by Rev Alan Dawson, can still be viewed here.
We are also pleased to report that HSBC have responded positively to the Big Shift Campaign by Christian Aid to ask them to stop investing in coal power in Indonesia, Vietnam and Bangladesh. A group including Margaret Heibel stood last April in heavy rain outside HSBC in Heswall in support of the campaign.
