Neston Nomads Girls are Cup Winners!

A fantastic weekend finished the season for Neston Nomads U12 Girls.
Friday night saw the whole squad and their parents meet for a pre-cup final evening meal at Elephant Coffee in Neston. This get together and team building must have worked, because on Saturday Neston Nomads Girls won the Wallasey Junior League Challenge Cup - the first ever league trophy for Neston Nomads Club in their history. Quite the achievement, not least as this in their first full season playing competetively.
The girls beat fellow league team Oxton Girls in a tense and hard fought match. Oxton had beaten Neston 3-0 in the early league meeting between the two clubs, so it was an even greater achievement and effort. Goal scorers Harriet Ward and Daisie Stockwell (2) ensured that the effort put in by all the girls meant a superb victory.
The fun and excitement did not stop there though, as on Sunday the girls were guests of LFC Ladies at Tranmere Rovers v League Champions Chelsea Ladies.
The girls escorted the players out to a guard of honour, were ball girls during the game, had a half time team picture on the pitch, took part in a penalty shoot out and a photo and autograph sesssion with the players after the game.
Training will now continue for a couple of weeks before the girls get a well deserved rest after a presentation day.
Neston Nomads Girls are starting a Wild Cats Session for girls aged 7 - 11 of any ability, from Tuesday 5th June for 12 weeks - 6pm - 7pm at PARKFIELDS, Station Road Parkgate. £2 Per session. Places are limited, to book please send an email.
