Neston Swimmers Return Home With a Splash

Neston Swimming Club's weekly training sessions re-started this week, 11 months after the Recreation Centre closed for refurbishment.
The Club has long been a busy and dynamic hub for local swimmers, with members young and old joining the regular training sessions to get fit, stay healthy and improve their swimming technique.
But the past year, including the club's temporary change of location, has seen membership numbers fall. Members are hoping that the return of the Club to its home base at the Recreation Centre will see it return to its former strength.
Club Chairman, Nigel Jones, who is also a local Councillor, said: "Swimming is a fun and healthy activity and we want everyone in Neston to have the opportunity to get involved with an active swimming club right on their doorstep.
"Over the years, hundreds of Nestonians have swum for fun or in competitions as part of our club. Now we're back training at our home base we look forward to even more swimmers from across the Neston area joining us in the pool."
The weekly training sessions began again this week and the club has big plans for the year ahead. They have recently taken on two new swimming coaches who will be on-hand to help local swimmers improve their technique and they hope to be back to running three training sessions per week by next January.
The club is open to all ages (including Masters) and offers free trials to anyone who wants to come along and give leisure or competitive swimming a try. Training is at the Recreation Centre every Wednesday between 7.30 and 10pm, with plenty of other training times available at different locations for those who want to get more water time.
