Neston Nomads Gaffer Stands Down After 4 Years

Andy 'Griffo' Griffiths, 1st Team gaffer for West Cheshire Neston Nomads has stepped down from managerial duties due to work and family commitments, after four years at the helm.
Stepping down: Andy Griffiths.
Andy has a legacy to be proud of: one promotion into West Cheshire Division 1, Cheshire Amateur Cup Finalists and Wirral Senior Cup Finalists. He had a big impact on the team, winning thirteen West Cheshire 1 games last season, finishing with 41pts and avoiding relegation this season in a tough division.
The biggest league wins under his steerage were 11-2 away at Southport Trinity and 10-1 at home against West Kirby Reserves, both in division 2. The Cheshire Cup run was memorable, the last minute 2-1 semi final win against Poynton was incredible and the Nomads beat a good Mellor team 2-1 away in the Quarter Final.
A spokesperson for the club said: "It has been a rollercoaster ride with ups and downs, but we have progressed as a club and a team under Griffo and the foundations are there for the new manager to build on.
"Andy is still involved with the senior club committee and fundraising for the new 3G pitch. He will be coaching some of our junior teams and will support the team when he can.
"Thank you for your service Griffo, you put Neston back on the map and established little Neston as a West Cheshire Division 1 Club we can be proud of."
