Neston Market Town Initiative

Cheshire County Council has been supporting the market towns initiative (MTI) across the county for a number of years.
Recently, with the Neston MTI moving forward, the Council's Regeneration Service has provided fresh, new signage around the town. Two copies of the town map have been produced to tell the public about areas of interest in Neston - one has been installed close to the Church and the other at the Town Hall, and copies are also on the Wirral Way notice boards. Three routed posts have been installed along the Wirral Way telling visitors what the surrounding area has to offer and there is now heritage brown signage on the Chester High Road/top of Hinderton Road.
Working with Highways colleagues, the Regeneration Service is also part-funding resurfacing and improvement work for the Neston Town Centre Enhancement Scheme.
Other County Council contributions towards the town centre scheme include:
- ♦ signage from A540 and Hinderton Road
giving information about markets
- ♦ provision of a speed indicator device
(SID) near the Civic Centre
- ♦ improve landscape planting and
- ♦ provision of finger post signs and street
- ♦ cycle rack facilities
- ♦ provision of a bus shelter, zebra crossing
and new litter bins
