First up this week, mourning the passing of a 'faithful and good officer' in the Chester Chronicle of 21 February 1812:
A very odd one next, with a woman being threatened by a machine! From the Manchester Courier and Lancashire General Advertiser of 31 July 1914:
The next one is peculiar indeed....from the 'Reynolds Newspaper' (not one we've come across thus far) about the shooting of a magician, no less. Dated 7 April 1867:
Quite hard to read the next one, but persevere if you can. False teeth stolen from the Brown Horse, as reported in the Liverpool Mercury of 23 November 1877:
This is sad...a shopkeeper who died following an accident after she saved the life of a child. Reported in the Liverpool Echo of 20 April 1918:
Finally for this week, I'm guessing it was a heck of a slow news week in Leicester for the Chronicle of that fair town to bother reporting this on 4 February 1854:
