Home care provider calls for more south Devon carers in winter run-up

A LEADING home care provider has unveiled plans this month (September 2019) to create jobs for 100 new employees to help meet growing demand for its services in south Devon as winter approaches.
Guardian Homecare says it will be boosting its home carer numbers in the Exeter and Torbay areas in the run-up to winter as the colder weather drives a greater need for its services.
Catherine Porter, Manager at Guardian Homecare, said: “We’re approaching winter, which is our busiest time of the year because, as the temperatures drop and the night’s close in, elderly and vulnerable people in Devon need more help. As the weather turns, more and more people are at risk and those requiring live-in or homecare services rises, so we’re creating vacancies for 100 new carers in order to maintain our excellent levels of care.
“We’re looking for kind, honest, caring and reliable individuals to provide services in Exeter and Torbay, and surrounding areas, so anyone who believes they’re the right candidate for a position with us should get in touch.”

Catherine added: “No experience is necessary to become a carer, as free, full training is provided. We offer new recruits a five-day training induction and a 12-week on-board programme working towards a care certificate. We also offer flexible working hours, both full and part-time, as well as competitive wages and generous holiday allocation.”
