NSPCC calls for local volunteers to help out at this year's HACK in Devon

The NSPCC is calling for people  to play their part in helping to end child cruelty by volunteering to help out with the NSPCC's ‘HACK' (Hike Against Cruelty to Kids) in Devon.

The Devon HACK is 25 miles and takes place on Sunday 11 September 2011. It is one of eleven HACKs taking place this year. The route goes through some of the most stunning countryside in the South West of England, taking participants along the South West coastal path and the Exe Estuary into stunning forests, through historic villages such as Starcross and Holcombe and the seaside town of Dawlish.

The HACK takes a lot of planning, organising and requires many people on the day to help support walkers. The NSPCC is looking for volunteers to help.

Volunteers play a key part in the organising and running of the event and keeping all walkers safe during the day. The types of things you could get involved in are:

•Join your local HACK committee and help in the pre-planning and organisation
•Registering entrants on the morning of the walk prior to their starting
•Manning a check point - registering walkers' progress and safety or handing out drinks and refreshments
•Marshalling along the route
•Assisting with the BBQ at the end of the walk {if applicable} - is it? Need to delete these words!
•Helping set up the HACK site the day before
•Collecting and delivering equipment and supplies for the event
•Assisting at ‘HQ' where walkers are monitored via computer
•Registering entrants on completion of the hike and handing out certificates and t-shirts
•Help by donating relevant goods for the day (van hire, drinks, BBQ food etc)

NSPCC fundraising manager, Donna Statham, said: "We really want to hear from anyone who would like to help out. Volunteering is a fantastic way to support the NSPCC, and it's fun! You can get a lot of satisfaction and enjoyment from knowing you're helping out at an event that will be raising vital funds for vulnerable children and young people who desperately need our support."

It’s a great pity that people don’t look into the history of the charities they support for I am sure if they did re the NSPCC they might well think twice. For whilst the last prime minister Gordon Brown was apologizing before he left office for the great wrong done to thousands upon thousands of child migrants what has not yet been addressed is the part played by the NSPCC who contrary to all that is good were one of the main agents used by the State to make possible such trafficking of defenceless children to Australia, NZ, Canada, Rhodesia and other countries stripped as they were in many a case of their own true identity and age even to the point of being told that either their parents were dead or didn’t love or want them, such was the evil intent that still to this day victims are lost in a vortex of grieving and emptiness and yes they suffered the worst of all possible child abuse. Suffice to say the NSPCC has much to answer for and as such should not be involved with children, full stop. In fact all they are is a well-oiled money making machine reason being that for the best part they act as a referral agency to the already public funded Social Services, suffice to say any monies they have should be given to their victims but unfortunately however it will be at your expense the donator should you continue to support the NSPCC. Indeed is it not time therefor that the press as the voice of the people do their own investigation re the NSPCC and make them fully accountable both morally and financially?
