Give yourself a new beginning in 2021 with the right legal help

Published: 4th January 2021 12:17

PARENTS who are separating or divorcing and are finding it difficult to make plans to see their children are encouraged to contact a Westcountry legal practice (January 2021).

This year has been extra tough on families due to the Coronavirus and some couples may find themselves separating. Family law experts are recommending people kick-off 2021 by getting the right legal help.

Family barrister and co-founder, along with fellow barrister Sarah Evans, of Children in the Middle®, Elizabeth McCallum explains: “If you are in a position where you find it difficult to agree on acceptable plans for your children with your former partner or spouse and you have made a New Year’s resolution to work it out once and for all, then we are here to help.

“Contrary to popular belief, outside the courts, our team of barristers prefer to help our clients find a sensible arrangement, that’s best for their children, outside the courtroom.

“Traditionally, the New Year is when people think about the circumstances they are in and change their lives, so if you’re that parent, then we’re here, ready to listen and glad to offer our professional, expert support.

“Wherever possible, we will help parents reach a voluntary agreement over the arrangements for their child.

“However, if legal action is needed, as barristers, at any stage of the proceedings we can provide the experienced representation a parent needs, including initial guidance, writing an application to the court, representation at hearings anywhere in England & Wales and preparation of witness statements and evidence.

“You may only need one meeting with us as a parent, though, so we can give you advice and guidance to figure out what is best for you and your child.”

In England and Wales, Children in the Middle® is the only legal practice that specialises exclusively in providing parents with direct access to barristers to represent them in inside and outside of court.

The legal practice is an expert in this field of law and the team has a wealth of experience in handling these complex and sensitive disputes.

Children in the Middle® is one of the few legal services in the country offering people the chance to speak directly to barristers. In the past a solicitor was required to instruct a barrister, but due to rule changes under the Public Access Scheme, members of the public are now able to instruct barristers direct.

Elizabeth continues: “For almost all of our clients, their children are their main focus and they wish to make the separation impact on their children as little as possible.

“If you need help with sorting out the arrangements for the care of your children, get in touch with us. We are specialist barristers. There is no need for a solicitor – you can come direct to us, the experts.”
