Blagdon formally launches free online diagnostic tool for pond keepers

ONE OF the UK’s leading water garden product companies has formally launched its online diagnostic tool to help pond keepers social distancing and self-isolating at home.
Blagdon’s tool is designed to help gardeners cutdown on non-essential trips away from the home and allows them to diagnose common fish and pond problems from the safety of their sofas.
Andrew Paxton, who is the Development Manager at Blagdon, explained: “We know many pet and aquatic stores will be closed now for safety reasons, or as they are located in garden centres, which have had to shut due to the current Coronavirus outbreak. However, some with online stores, and delivery or click and collect mechanisms in place, will remain open so pond keepers can buy essential items like food and medication.
“Spring is the start of the pond season when everything is waking up after the winter. It is traditionally the time when pond keepers have a bit of a clear out. This includes cleaning and kickstarting filters to ensure they are working well, as fish need feeding again after winter dormancy. As fish start to move about, it can become apparent if there have been any issues or ailments that need dealing with and this is when people need to ensure all their equipment is running properly too.
“For those pond keepers correctly following all Government advice, this tool will be invaluable.
“If you have an issue with your pond or fish, please use our online ‘Diagnose What’s Wrong’ tool to help you resolve any urgent problems. Many local stores will still deliver or have an online option.
“Our diagnostic tool will also support our product stockists who may be overwhelmed with telephone calls and online sales. This tool is yet another resource for them and is, also, something they can recommend to members of the public to use at home and will help them channel resources to give the best possible service at all times.”
