Local businesses join forces to support Dorset County Show

Author: Online Stories Published: 11th July 2019 16:55

South west insurer Cornish Mutual is Dorset County Show's headline sponsor for the second year, as part of a multi-year agreement.

Founded by Dorchester Agricultural Society in 1840, Dorset County Show will be taking place from Saturday September 7 to Sunday September 8 this year and celebrates the best of agriculture and rural life. The annual two-day event attracts more than 60,000 people and offers something for everyone, from families to agricultural enthusiasts and is held each year at the Dorchester Showground in Cokers Frome.

Cornish Mutual has insured farms and rural businesses across the south west since 1903. As a mutual organisation, it is run for and on behalf of its 24,000-plus members in Cornwall, Devon, Dorset and Somerset. With a growing number of members in Dorset, the company is the only Chartered Insurer based in the south west and was recently named in the UK's Top 100 insurance companies.

Commenting on its sponsorship Alan Goddard, managing director of Cornish Mutual, said: "Sponsoring the Show has provided us with fantastic coverage across the county, and we are thrilled with the work that Dorset Agricultural Society is doing in order to deliver a top-class show."

Dorset County Show also welcomes Monart as a new sponsor for 2019, a new five-star spa opening in Poundbury, Dorset, later this year. This adds to the list of more than 50 local businesses that sponsor and support the show each year.

Liam Anthony Griffin, Director of Monart Spa in Poundbury, said: "We are absolutely delighted to be a sponsor of this year's Show. We are opening Monart Spa, a luxury day spa in early October at the Royal Pavilion, in the heart of Poundbury.

"We are very excited about our opening in October and the Show gives us the perfect opportunity to give visitors a sneak peek of what the spa has to offer Dorset. We will be serving drinks, offering wellbeing advice and free hand massages over the weekend, we're really looking forward to a wonderful Show and hope to see you there."

Will Hyde, Secretary of Dorset County Show, added: "We are proud to have so many local businesses pledge their support for this year's Show. All sponsorship received is invaluable and in turn provides incredible brand awareness and corporate social responsibility opportunities for companies to give back to the communities within which they operate."

Sponsoring Dorset County Show allows businesses to market to a wide range of target audiences, from agricultural businesses to young families, and opportunities are still available for the 2019 show.

Tickets for this year's Dorset County Show are on sale now, children under 16 go free and early bird adult tickets are available until July 31 for £14. Visit dorsetcountyshow.co.uk or call 01305 264249 for more details.
