Weird Fish swims in to sponsor the Nyetimber Dorset Seafood Festival for tenth year in a row

Published: 9th July 2019 17:20

The Nyetimber Dorset Seafood Festival returns to Weymouth Harbour on Saturday July 13 and Sunday July 14, with leading clothing brand, Weird Fish, as one of its main sponsors.

Sponsoring for the tenth time in a row, Weird Fish is the only clothing brand sponsoring the renowned festival.

Thousands are expected to return to Weymouth Harbour to enjoy the weekend's activities. The festival is a celebration of seafood whilst aiming to encourage sustainable consumption of culinary delights from the ocean. This focus on sustainability is in keeping with Weird Fish's current campaign, ‘The Only Way is Ethics,' which sees the clothing brand focusing on swimming towards a better future. Its ethical policy has been revamped and sustainable fabrics, including Tencel, Bamboo and Linen, have been introduced to its offering.

John Stockton, managing director of Weird Fish, commented: "We are very excited to return as one of the main sponsors and love supporting an event that encourages a better understanding of the seafood available from our shores.

"We don't claim to be a completely sustainable brand from top to tail yet - but we are making little steps on the way to improve and hope to do more in the future."

Weird Fish will be showcasing a wide selection from its summer range in its pop-up shop, with exclusive show offers available.

John added: "This was the first ever event Weird Fish signed up to do and so we have a real affinity with this festival, which continues to get bigger and better each year."

The Nyetimber Dorset Seafood Festival raises funds for the Fishermen's Mission, the vital port of call for fishermen and their families, and the event will showcase live cooking demonstrations, Nyetimber sparkling wine and expert advice from journalist Suzy Atkins on what seafood to enjoy a glass with.

Weird Fish clothing is available to buy nationally from Weird Fish retail stores and online. There are 16 branded stores and stockists include Debenhams, Cotswold Outdoor, Haskins Garden Centres and Blacks Leisure.
